If it is indeed a lifter (Does the 1.8 Audi have lifters?), then it would be OK for a while.
But until that is determined, I wouldn’t drive it.
If it is a bearing on the crankshaft or cam, then it would damage it by driving it further.
If it’s a turbo problem there may or may not be a performance hit…..
